Dennis Hower 1965-2023

Dennis Lee Hower, 57, of Topeka, formerly of Holton, passed away tragically in Topeka on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023.

He was born Dec. 29, 1965, in Holton, the son of Warren C. and Mary M. (Todd) Hower.

Dennis graduated from Holton High School in 1984. He attended Highland Community College and three years at Emporia State University.

He worked for TARC Sheltered Living and Capper Foundation. He was a member of Evangel United Methodist Church in Holton and was attending Countyside United Methodist in Topeka. Dennis was also a volunteer for Topeka Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Survivors include two sisters, Linda Allen of Atlanta, Ga., and Wanda Tope (David) of Independence, Mo.; a brother, Roger Hower (Cindy) of Holton; five nieces; a nephew; and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Mary Hower; and a brother, Russell Hower.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Dennis will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
