Dennis Douglas 1955-2015
Dennis D. Douglas, 60, Netawaka, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015, in Holton.
He was born Jan. 7, 1955, in Topeka, the son of Morris and Neva (Seastrom) Douglas. He graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1973 and had worked at Goodyear until his retirement in 2010.
Dennis enjoyed traveling, reading, ancestry and music. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 307.
Dennis is survived by: his mother, Neva Douglas of Netawaka; his sister, Kathryn Woodall (Matt) of Kansas City; his brothers, Ron Douglas (Kathy) of Tonganoxie, John Douglas of Netawaka and Rusty Douglas (Pam) of Mayetta; his caregiver during cancer treatment for five years, Opal J. Slusser of Holton; and his six nieces, four nephews and eight great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Morris Douglas, in 2011; and his brother, Rick Douglas, in 2000.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Netawaka Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
