David Baum 1965-2020
David Roy Baum, 55, of Holton, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020, at his home with family by his side. David fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born Jan. 15, 1965 in Topeka, the son of Robert Phillip and Carol Ann (Finn) Baum.
David graduated from Holton High School in 1983 and also attended Washburn University and Emporia State University. He was a contact representative for the VA Hospital in Topeka. He had also sold insurance for Farm Bureau Insurance, was a caregiver at Developmental Services and was co-owner of Baum Arms Division/J&L Pawn, all in Holton.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Holton and the NRA.
David married Pamela Renee Flewelling on Aug. 10, 2012, in Holton. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Carol Baum of Holton; stepson, Dean Aydlette of Houston, Texas; stepdaughter, Caycey Wamego (Derek) of Topeka; two bothers, Scott Baum (Susan) of Holton and Mike Baum (Ranae) of Topeka; two grandchildren, Ellie and McKynzie; and five nieces and nephews, Mason, Spencer, Regan, Jacob and Zack Baum.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” Baum, on April 1, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 24 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
