Daryl Tolin 1942-2015
Daryl L. Tolin, 72, of Holton, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Vintage Park in Holton.
He was born May 1, 1942, in Topeka, the son of Lyle and Jean (Sigg) Tolin. Daryl graduated from Holton High School in 1960.
He worked for Soldier Clipper while in high school. He also worked for Anderson Construction and later retired from Goodyear in 2002 after 40 1/2 years. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Holton, the United Steel Workers Local 307, helped form Boy Scout Troop 50 in Topeka and was a volunteer at Holton Fire Department for 18 years. Daryl proudly served his country with the National Guard.
On April 20, 1968, he married Julia Ann Garner in Holton. She survives of the home.
Daryl is also survived by his daughter, Deanna Flott (Todd) of Carrolton, Texas, and his son, Darren Tolin (Valerie) of Topeka; his brother, Bryce Tolin of Coral Springs, Fla.; and his five grandchildren, Camryn, Kendall, Skyler, Peyton and Logan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Greg Tolin.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 7 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
