Darrel Morgan 1938-2018
Darrel Dean Morgan, 80, Denison, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.
He was born Aug. 25, 1938, in Corning, the son of Harold Robert and Gladys Alberta Conklin Morgan. He graduated from Circleville High School in 1956.
Mr. Morgan served in the Army National Guard from 1956 to 1962, earning the rank of sergeant. He worked for DuPont in Topeka for 30 years, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Posse and the Holton Saddle Club.
He married Mary Margaret Billman on Feb. 14, 1956, in Holton. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Cindy A. Morgan and husband Larry, Denison, Texas; a son, Rodney D. Morgan of Denison, Texas; a sister, Betty Fowler, DeKalb, Ill.; a daughter-in-law, DeAnn Jackson; eight grandchildren, Jeff, Luke, Billie, Amanda, Markie, Lacey, Joseph and Sierra; and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark E. Morgan; a sister, Lila Jones; and a brother, Lloyd Morgan.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday.
