Darlene Abramson 1932-2016
Darlene Ann Richard Abramson, 83, Aurora, Colo., formerly of Netawaka, died Thursday, April 7, 2016, in Aurora, Colo.
She was born Sept. 6, 1932, in Netawaka, the daughter of George “Jack” and Dorothy Bennaka Richard. She graduated from Whiting High School in 1950. She had lived for more than 50 years in Aurora, Colo., and had previously lived in Netawaka, Horton, Arrington and Holton.
Mrs. Abramson was a homemaker. She also was a Salvation Army Store manager in Colorado and a sales representative for a Colorado artist.
She married Orville G. Abramson on May 21, 1950, in Goff,. He died Dec. 24, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Dorothy Richard; and a sister-in-law, Karen Shell.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Abramson and wife Sandra, Aurora, Colo., and Randall Abramson and wife Joan, Helena, Mont.; a daughter, Deborah Poor and husband Donald, Aurora, Colo.; two sisters, Patsy Bell and husband Roy, Seneca, and Nancy LaFond and husband Larry, Haven; a brother, James Richard and wife Donna, Overland Park; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Inurnment will follow in Netawaka Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
