Courtney Place 1981-2021

Courtney Lynn Place, 39, Netawaka, died Wednesday, March 10, 2021, the result of an electrical accident.

She was born March 22, 1981, in Holton, the daughter of Glenn Stephen “Tiny” Place and Pamela Jane Martin Ward. She attended Royal Valley High School.

Ms. Place was a homemaker and a self-employed housekeeper.

She was a member of Citizen Band Potawatomi Nation of Oklahoma.

Survivors include her husband, Travis J. Mullins, of the home; three children, Justin, Alyssa and Abigail Mullins, all of the home; her mother, Pam Ward, Independence, Mo.; three sisters, Kim Barber and husband Tony, Delia, Denise Marshall and husband Ralph, Whiting, and Brandi Place, Independence, Mo.; two brothers, Brent Place, Kirksville, Mo., and Eric “Doug” Place, Holton; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Ms. Place will lie in state Monday and Tuesday until 6 p.m. each day at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be held at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 17 in Netawaka Cemetery. A private family funeral will be held at the funeral home.
