Coteau Jackson 1992-2020

DeCoteau Arthur “Coteau” Jackson, Win Bi Tuk, 27, Topeka, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020, at his home.

He was born Oct. 15, 1992, in Topeka, the son of Michael “Rocky” Jackson and Lori Wabnum. He graduated from Tiospazina Tribal School in Sisseton, S.D.

Mr. Jackson was the full-time caregiver for his father in the family home.

He was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and the Drum Religion.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Anthony “Little Rock” Jackson Jr.; and a nephew, Christopher Jackson.

Survivors include two brothers, Shon Jackson and wife Lisa, Topeka, and LaVoy Jackson, Fargo, S.D.; four sisters, Dawn Jackson Bailey and husband Leland and Janna Marshno and son Silver, all of Topeka, Jacqueline Jackson and husband Jaiden, Sisseton, S.D., and Mona Carlson and husband Kobe, Las Vegas, Nev.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A supper and wake was held Saturday evening at the Nozhackum Hall, west of Mayetta. Burial was held Sunday morning in Shipshee Cemetery. Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
