Connie Slattery 1952-2017
Constance “Connie” Sue Slattery, 64, Topeka, formerly of Mayetta, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at her home.
She was born Sept. 25, 1952, in Holton, the daughter of Francis Michael and Lucille Marie Scheve Slattery.
Miss Slattery was raised in Mayetta and lived many years with her mother on their Mayetta farm. In later years she lived in various group homes in Topeka, including SLI and Loving Hearts. For the past 2 1/2 years she lived with the Porter family in Topeka.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary Frances Slattery and husband Howard Bishop, Fenton, Mo., and Martha “Marty” Slattery and husband Morton Pellatt, Salt Lake City, Utah; and two nephews, Daniel Francis Pellatt, San Diego, Calif., and Andrew Jared Pellatt, New Orleans, La. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mayetta. Family will greet friends one hour prior to mass. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery at Hoyt. Miss Slattery will lie in state at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Monday, followed by visitation until 8 p.m.
