Christian Carter 1995-2018

Christian Michael Carter, 22, of New Market, Iowa, formerly of Mayetta, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, after a car accident in Shenandoah, Iowa.

He was born Dec. 29, 1995, in Topeka, the son of Raphael C. Carter and Amy Marie Lawrence. He graduated from Royal Valley High School in 2014 and graduated from Washburn Tech with an associate degree as an industrial technician.

Mr. Carter worked for Reser’s in Topeka in mechanical maintenance and most recently worked for NSK-AKS Steel Ball Company in mechanical maintenance in Clarinda, Iowa.

He attended Calvary Lutheran Church in Topeka.

Survivors include his fiancé, Dakota Culley, Shenandoah, Iowa; a son, Jace Michael Carter, Mayetta; a daughter, Caytlin Marie Carter, Shenandoah, Iowa; his mother, Amy Lawrence, Topeka; his father, Raphael C. Carter; two brothers, Aaron O. Lawrence and Vincent S. Carter, both of Topeka; a sister, Alexis G. Carter, Topeka; maternal grandparents, Norman and Marie Foster, Topeka; paternal grandparents, Dennis and Martha Miller and Ralph Carter, all of Topeka; and aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Darren Alvin Lawrence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service with inurnment at a later date in Hoyt Cemetery.
