Brian Bausch 1974-2022

Brian Bausch, 38, Queen’s Creek, Ariz., died Saturday, June 11, 2002, in a traffic accident near Tucson, Ariz.

Brian was born Jan. 30, 1974, to Richard and Helen Bausch in Kansas, where he and his four siblings, Karin, Eddie, Carol and Jenny, were raised on the family farm near Hoyt. When he was seven he received his first horse, Hobbie, who he trained to do many things and marking the start of his horse career. Brian attended Royal Valley schools and later attended Kansas State University. He enjoyed playing music, both the saxophone and guitar.

He was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Xavier Church in Mayetta, his family’s church where he grew in his faith. Brian took part in Bible studies and other church activities, one of which was joining ARC, a Christian group of young people that did inspirational concerts at school assemblies and youth groups.

At age 19 Brian let the Lord’s calling drive him to be devoted to helping others follow Jesus in every area of his life. Later he worked at the Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, Mich., working his way to head wrangler and also where his entertainment career began.

Following the Double JJ, Brian grew his training, instruction and horseshoeing business at Sugar Tree Farms in Muskegon, Mich., where he developed relationships that lasted him his entire life.

Brian met Paula in 2003 at a mounted shooting competition and the two were married on Aug. 13, 2005. They trained horses in Cave Creek, Ariz., gave lessons and competed together. Their first child, Abram Bausch, was born July 26, 2009. Hannah L. Bausch was born Aug. 23, 2011.

In 2012 the family moved to the Orme Boarding School to teach horsemanship for three years. Brian and his family moved to Queen Creek, Ariz., in 2015, purchasing their first home, the place they would spend the next seven years making unforgettable memories, including celebrating the birth of their third child, Elizabeth A. Bausch, on Oct. 4, 2017.

During this time Brian stayed closer to home, spending more time with his family. The Beyond Riding business blossomed reaching so many people in the community. Mentoring others in his circle of influence through Bible studies and group gatherings and being available for others was a huge priority in his life.

Brian was an accomplished horseman in many different disciplines, but his true love was performing for an audience. He was an accomplished trick rider, trick roper, gun spinner and trick horse extraordinaire. He could dazzle a crowd with his charisma, charm, jokes and athleticism. It gave him a platform to share his talents with the world along with his glory to God for his abilities.

Brian will be most remembered for his smile, fun loving spontaneous attitude, hard working ethic, amazing talent on a horse and most of all his love and devotion for his family as well as his undeniable love for his Savior Jesus Christ.

Brian was to perform at the Jackson County Rodeo on July 8 and 9. Services will be held at the San Tan Valley Community Church in San Tan Valley, Ariz., on Friday, July 15.
