Bobby Hirsch Jr. 1955-2015
Robert Dean “Bobby” Hirsch Jr., 59, Netawaka, died Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Horton Community Hospital.
He was born June 12, 1955, in Hiawatha, the son of Robert Dean Hirsch Sr. and Barbara Marie Harvey Hirsch. He graduated from Powhattan High School in 1973 and had attended Atchison Vo-Tech for Body and Fender Repair.
Mr. Hirsch worked for 25 years at FlairFold in Hiawatha and for 12 years at IMC in Seneca.
He was a member of Wetmore United Methodist Church, Hiawatha Elks Club, Wetmore Booster Club and a board member at Camp Chippewa.
He married Susan A. Thieme on June 11, 1977, in Powhattan. She survives.
Other survivors include his parents, Bob and Barb Hirsch, Powhattan; two daughters, Jenna Merriman and husband Arthur, Shawnee, and Jessica Jeffery and husband Phillip, Topeka; a sister, Peggy Hutchison and husband Rick, Wakarusa; three brothers, Fred Hirsch and wife Joan, Abilene, Terry Hirsch and wife Jean and Ronnie Hirsch, all of Hiawatha; and three grandchildren, Zoe and Xander Merriman and Aria Jeffery. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Walter Bryan Hirsch.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Wetmore United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be held in Fairview Cemetery at Goff. Family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
