Bob Rieschick 1933-2015
Robert Lee “Bob” Rieschick, 81, Havensville, died Tuesday, March 26, 2015, at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center in Topeka.
He was born Nov. 11, 1933, in Soldier, the son of Ernest and Margaret Hanna Rieschick. He graduated from Havensville High School and later received an associate’s degree in agriculture business. He had lived in the Havensville, Valley Falls, Holton and Elsmore, Mo., communities.
Mr. Rieschick served in the U.S. Marines for more than 20 years during the Vietnam War. After retiring from military service, he was a cattle farmer in Missouri. He and his wife also operated a mobile library.
He married Nancy J. Sherman on Sept. 28, 1963, in Hardeeville, S.C. She died Feb. 10, 2015. He also was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn “Lorene” Collins, on Sept. 25, 1996; and a nephew.
Survivors include a brother, William “Bill” Rieschick, Topeka; and many nieces and nephews.
Private family inurnment will be held in Buck’s Grove Cemetery.
