Bob Cope 1951-2022

Word was received of the death of Bob Cope of Salmon, Idaho, on Dec. 28, 2022, following a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 12, 1951, in Topeka. He attended school in Netawaka and graduated from Whiting High School in 1969. He studied veterinary medicine at K-State and graduated from there in 1975, then moved to North Dakota to practice.

In 1977 he opened a clinic in Salmon, Idaho, and remained there until his death. He was a highly respected veterinarian for his work in that area.

He enjoyed playing games, and when playing Trivial Pursuit with friends, he was required to answer two questions to his opponent’s one. It was said he still won every match.

He served as Lemhi County Commissioner and was on the Salmon city council. He also served on the local EPA governing council.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Lloyd and Rebecca Gray Cope; and a half-sister, Patricia Cope Henderson.

His survivors include his wife, Terrie, of the home; a niece, Barbra Henderson White, in Kentucky; a nephew, John Henderson, in Texas; and a cousin, Mary Jane Burns, of Valley Falls.
