Bill Jones 1939-2016
William F. Jones, known to his friends as “Bill,” passed away Monday, July 4, 2016.
The majority of Bill Jones’ life was lived in Missouri. He was born in McFall, Mo., on July 30, 1939 to Jerald and Wyvonne Jones. In 1957, he graduated from King City High School, King City, Mo.
Bill was a hard worker and retired in 2001 from Danisco Ingredients, St. Joseph, Mo. That same year, he married Judy Smith and relocated to Holton, where he became a school bus driver for the Holton School District.
Bill was actively involved in his church and community. In early 2016, he returned to St. Joseph, Mo., where he spent the remainder of his days surrounded by his loving family.
Bill enjoyed Kansas City Royals baseball, sitting alongside bodies of water with a fishing pole, traveling our beautiful country, bird watching and eating ice cream, but what brought him most enjoyment were his two grandsons.
Bill is survived by a daughter, Jody Stufflebean (Andy); two grandsons, Christopher Rhoden (Kensi) and Boston Rhoden; two brothers, Gerald Jones (Connie) and Lester Jones (Pam); and numerous friends.
Farewell Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9 at Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory in St. Joseph, Mo. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.
