Betty Pruitt 1923-2019

Betty Louise Langford Pruitt, 95, Holton, died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, at Medicalodges Jackson County.

She was born Oct. 3, 1923, in Ravanna, Mo., the daughter of Lyle Kenneth and Lucille B. Hollingsworth Langford.

Mrs. Pruitt was a homemaker and housewife.

She married Lee Roy “Arkie” Pruitt on April 14, 1940, in Leon, Iowa. He died Dec. 16, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Pruitt; a grandson, Russell Pruitt; and two brothers, Lewis Franklin and Robert Lee Langford.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mary Pruitt, Topeka; a granddaughter, Janice Tidwell, Topeka; six great-grandchildren, Linsey Kueser and husband Eric, Alec Rodvelt, Kasey Rodvelt and Maggie, Macy and Mary Pruitt; and five great-great-grandchildren, Julia, Kallee, Lexee, Mellee and Kayslee.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 in Holton Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
