Betty King 1928-2019

Betty May King, 90, Topeka, died Thursday, March 14, 2019, at The Pines South in Holton.

She was born April 8, 1928, in Oneida, the daughter of Manoah and Mary Wright Schooler. She graduated from Burlingame High School in 1946.

Ms. King worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell/AT&T. Later in life she worked at Lollars Antique Store in Topeka.

She married Rex King. They divorced. She later married Charles Hazlett. They divorced.

Survivors include two sons, Larry King and wife Joella, Hoyt, and Kevin King, Wichita; four grandsons, Jeremy, Jason, Justin and Christopher; a granddaughter, Amy Singleton; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Singleton; and a son, Stephen King.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Woodlawn Cemetery in Nemaha County. Davidson Funeral Home of Topeka is in charge of arrangements.
