Betty Chilia 1934-2015
Elizabeth Ann “Betty” McQueen Chilia, 81, Layton, Utah, died Friday, July 3, 2015, at Legacy/Fairfield Village in Layton, where she had lived in recent years.
She was born Feb. 21, 1934, in Holton, the daughter of Knox Ralph and Lillie Ethel McQueen.
Mrs. Chilia retired from Hill AFB in 1986. She also spent several years volunteering at Davis Hospital.
She married Vincent Chilia on Aug. 7, 1954, in Topeka. He died in 2000. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jean Stauffer; and a brother, Harold McQueen.
Survivors include a son, Rick Chilia and wife Jeannie; a daughter, Andrea Simpson and husband Carl; four grandchildren, Christina Bush and husband Lance, Stephanie Pooley and husband George, Jason Chilia and wife Annie and Sara Ball; and six great-grandchildren, Brilee and Kambree Bush, Hunter Brown, Bronson Chilia and Joshua and Noah Keough.
Graveside services were held Friday, July 10 at Lindquist’s Memorial Park in Layton, Utah, with the Rev. Johnathon Klein of Light of the Valley Lutheran Church officiating. Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary of Layton, Utah, is in charge of arrangements.
