Bethany Gilliland 1974-2018

Bethany Paige Gilliland, 43, of Parsons, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at her home. 

She was born Oct. 5, 1974, in Rome, N.Y. to William “Bill” Gilliland and Sandra (Dobkins) Gilliland. As a child, she moved with her family to Effingham, where she attended schools.

Bethany worked as an Emergency Medical Technician and had studied to become a Paramedic. She later worked in the fast food industry. Most recently, she had been working as an assistant counselor at the Metro Treatment Clinic in Wichita.

She enjoyed playing the guitar, video games, listening to audio books and working crossword puzzles. In earlier years, she was active in 4-H, where she showed steers.

Survivors include her spouse, Chele Landers, of the home; a son, A.J. Gilliland and his fiancee, Karin Juarez, of Topeka; her father, William “Bill” Gilliland and his wife Donna of Holton; her mother Sandra “Mickey” Gilliland of Marion, Iowa; and a sister, Tracy Bradley and her husband Jeff of Marion, Iowa. She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, March 27 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home. Burial of the cremains will be held in the Oswego Cemetery at a later date.
