Barbara Jones 1947-2019
Barbara Ann Jones, 71, Holton, formerly of Horton, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019, at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton.
She was born Nov. 11, 1947, in Centralia, the daughter of Cyril and Emma H. Deters Holthaus. She graduated from Horton High School.
Mrs. Jones worked in the revenue department, driver control department and the beverage control department for the State of Kansas.
She married Harold Jones on May 2, 1990, in Atchison. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Pamela Holthaus.
Survivors include a daughter, Kelly Ann Sale, Leona; two grandchildren, Caleb Jeffrey and Raven Sale; three great-grandchildren, Alan Jeffrey, Riley Jeffrey and Aubrey Jeffrey; four brothers, Stan Holthaus, Jim Holthaus, and Mike Holthaus all of Horton, and Clint Holthaus, Hiawatha; and two sisters, Kathy Handke, Atchison, and Ruby Heinen, Denton.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, where family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be held in Wetmore Cemetery.
