Anita Fassnacht 1949-2016
Anita Louise Fassnacht, 66, Muscotah, died Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Hiawatha Community Hospital.
She was born March 25, 1949, in Holton, the daughter of Phillip and Ruth Driscoll Watkins. She attended Rose Hill Grade School, graduated from ACCHS in 1967 and later graduated from Crum Beauty School in Manhattan.
Mrs. Fassnacht worked as a hairdresser in Atchison and Effingham. She also helped her husband on the family farm.
She was a member of the Young Farmers Association, Larkinburg Christian Church and the Church of The Lord Jesus Christ.
She married Thomas Fassnacht on Feb. 14, 1970, in Larkinburg. He died Jan. 27, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Vicki Hopkins.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick Fassnacht and wife Amy, Whiting, and John Fassnacht and wife Sarah, Muscotah; five grandchildren, Trisha, Wyatt, Aaron, Cody and Taylor Fassnacht; and a sister, Phyllis Webster, Holton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, where family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be held in Muscotah Cemetery.
