Amos Goslin 1930-2018

Amos Grant Goslin, 88, Horton, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at his home.

He was born Sept. 7, 1930, in St. Joseph, Mo., the son of Lester “Dutch” and Nora Goslin. He attended schools in Kansas.

Mr. Goslin served in the U.S. Navy. He owned and operated Kickapoo Trucking, worked in the movie industry in New York City, was an auto mechanic and worked on residential maintenance and was a jack-of-all-trades in Maui, Hawaii.

He was a member of Holton Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was a member of the Kickapoo Tribe of Kansas, served as tribal chairman and was the oldest member at the time of his death.

He married Celia Kahbeah on Oct. 7, 1970, in Hiawatha. She survives.

Other survivors include five children, Michael Goslin and wife Doreen, Maui, Hawaii, Amy Osborne and husband Mike, Yelm, Wash., Ann Marie Goslin, Craig, Colo., Tony Royal and wife Anna, Lawrence, and Lea Ella Dudoit, Horton; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and five sisters, Nona Allen, Hemet, Calif., Nancy Hue Sing and husband Ernest, Maui, Hawaii, and Esther George, Karen Greene and husband Don and Donna Cabral and husband Mark, all in Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dutch and Nora Goslin; a sister, Paula Carpenter; and a brother, Buddy Goslin.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at Kingdom Hall in Holton. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is assisting the family.
