Alice Ash 1924-2015
Alice Sudlow Ash, 91, Holton, died Monday, Aug. 3, 2015 at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton.
She was born May 12, 1924, in Holton, the daughter of Fred and Adria Newton Sudlow. She graduated from Holton High School in 1942.
Mrs. Ash was a helicopter mechanic for the U.S. Navy and later worked at Farmers State Bank for more than 30 years, retiring as vice president. She also co-owned Don Ash and Son for more than 71 years with her husband and son.
She was a member of Bookman Book Club and First United Methodist Church in Circleville.
She married Donald Ash Jr. on June 5, 1946, in Lawrence. He died June 7, 2004. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Sudlow.
Survivors include a son, Abe Ash and wife Denise, Holton; a daughter, Adria Herrman and husband Carl, Latham; eight grandchildren, Abbe, Amy, Alice, Katie, Aaron, Rex, Lyndsey and Kristopher; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Circleville United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow in Circleville Cemetery.
