Alan Hale 1947-2015


Alan “PamSot” Hale, 68, Rossville, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at Rossville Valley Manor.

He was born Dec. 19, 1947, in Horton, the son of Louis E. and Pearl Herrick Hale. He graduated from Topeka High School in 1965 and also attended Haskell Indian School in Lawrence.

Mr. Hale served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had lived most of his life in Topeka, working in construction. He had also lived in California for 10 years in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

He was a member of the Drum Religion and Prairie Band Potawa­tomi Nation.

Survivors include two sisters, Linda D. Hale, Mayetta, and Jo­raine Tuckwin, Hiawatha. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Cecelia Hale, Julia Deener and Anita Hale; and a brother, Louis “Sonny” Hale Jr.

Drum services will be held Tuesday evening at the Dance­ground Building west of Mayetta. Burial will be held Wednesday af­ternoon in the Danceground Cemetery. Mr. Hale will lie in state at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
