Thomas C. Wilson 1941-2018

Thomas Cooper Wilson, 77, Muscotah, died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at NorthCare Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo.

He was born Feb. 24, 1941 in Muscotah, the son of Mike and Irene Cooper Wilson.

Mr. Wilson was a farmer and stockman and also worked for Rockwell International and Atchison Casting as a quality control supervisor before retiring.

He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus in Effingham and the Kansas Prairie Pickers Association.

He married Connie Kimmi on April 9, 1962, in Everest. She died May 16, 2010. He later married Carolyn Rickey. She survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Angela Orangifard and husband Hossein, Prairie Village; a son, Tim Wilson and wife Amy, Indianapolis, Ind.; three grandchildren, Michael Taylor and wife Krystal, Aiden Orangifard and Zahra Orangifard; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla Taylor and Kody Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Cindy Wilson.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Effingham. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today (Monday) with visitation to follow at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton. Burial will be held in Muscotah Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Prairie Pickers Association and may be sent in care of Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary, 909 Central Ave., Horton, KS 66439.
