Frances Marie Slaughter James 1925-2018

Frances Marie Slaughter James, 92, Searcy, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at her home.

She was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Corsicana, Texas, the daughter of O.L. and Bettie Slaughter.

Mrs. James and her husband lived in Germany, New Mexico, Texas, New Hampshire and South Dakota during his career with the U.S. Air Force. She partnered with her husband in his ministry after his military service.

She married Richard “Dick” James in 1944. He died Sept. 26, 2012. She also was preceded in death by a son, Richard Jr.; and her parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Ritchie and husband Bob, Searcy, Ark.; a daughter-in-law, Linda James, Columbia, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Heather Diles and husband Ben, Tracy Rogers and husband Jeremiah, Benjamin James and wife Kelle, Bennett Ritchie and Alex Ritchie and Logan; and 11 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Harrison and Emily Diles, Lilly and Daisy Rogers, Greta, Ingrid, Dietrich and Christian James and James and Eliot Ritchie.

Memorial services were held Saturday in the auditorium of the College Church of Christ with visitation following.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gander Brook Christian Camp or World Bible School. Roller-Daniel Funeral Home of Searcy, Ark., is in charge of arrangements.
