Farmer to celebrate 90th birthday
Kenny Farmer of rural Holton will celebrate his 90th birthday on Monday, Aug. 20.
He was born in Circleville on that date in 1928 and graduated from Circleville High School in 1946.
He worked at Goodyear for 32 years, retiring in 1985. During that time, he was also a substitute mail carrier. He became a full-time mail carrier upon his retirement from Goodyear and retired from the United States Postal Service in 1992.
Ken and his wife, Norma, will celebrate with a family gathering on Saturday, Aug. 25, hosted by their daughter and son-in-law in Topeka.
Family who plan to attend include their son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kendra Farmer of Southlake, Texas, and their children, Jordan Farmer and girlfriend Carolyn Fava of Dardenne Prairie, Mo.; Bailey Farmer and her fiancé, Anthony Custable, of Dallas, Texas; and Keaton Farmer of Ft. Worth, Texas.
Also attending will be their daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Mike Laird of Topeka, and their children; Travis and Ashley Rieschick of Olathe and Aaron Rieschick and his girlfriend, Sami Hankins, of Lenexa.
Cards may be sent to Kenny at 23335 O Road, Holton, KS 66436.
Ken and some of his friends are often seen at the Holton Burger King several days a week having coffee and telling stories. If you see them, say “hello” and join in, they’d probably enjoy hearing a new story.
