B.O.E. to seek new HES principal

Following a lengthy discussion in executive session here Monday night, the Holton school board, by unanimous 7-0 vote, decided to seek a new principal for the Holton Elementary School.

Current Principal Beth Smith, of the pre-kindergarten through fifth grade school, will serve out this school term as principal and will continue to be employed by the district next year as an administrator at HES with a new position, according to the board’s decision.

In November of last year, the board extended a one-year extension to Smith’s administrative contract with the district.
