Holton Boys Basketball Sub-State

The Marysville boys beat Rock Creek-St. George here on Saturday 59-53 to win the Holton Class 4A-DII Sub-State basketball tournament and qualify for the state tournament.

Marysville’s Pieschl scored 26 points and his teammate Sparks added 14 to lead the Bulldogs to the tourney title.

Marysville improved to 18-3 overall while Rock Creek finished its season 19-3.

Rock Creek had three players hit double digits – Deweese (11), Vots (10) and Marple (10).

Rock Creek advanced to the sub-state title game by beating Clay Center here on Friday, 64-52. Clay Center finished its season 4-16.

Marysville advanced to the sub-state title game by defeating Holton here on Friday, 64-42.

The sub-state loss marked the last game of the season for the Holton Wildcats, who finished with an impressive 11-10 overall record.
