Norma Whiteaker 1936-2018
Norma Sue Whiteaker, 81, Mayetta, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.
She was born June 26, 1936, in St. Paul, Ark., the daughter of Orville and Era Ogden Langley. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1954. She had lived in the Jackson County community for 27 years.
Mrs. Whiteaker worked as a paraprofessional in special education at Topeka public schools.
She married Thad Whiteaker on June 23, 1956, in St. Paul, Ark. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Douglas Whiteaker and wife Denise, Fort Scott, and Kenneth Whiteaker and wife Deb, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Randy Whiteaker, on June 21, 2017; her parents, Orville and Era Langley; and her grandparents, Aaron and Sarah Ogden.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 24 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial followed in Holton Cemetery.
