New dog added to K-9 unit
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has added a new dog to its K-9 unit, a Belgian Malinois named Ike.
At the end of 2017, Ike and Jackson County Deputy Sergeant Travis Spiker completed 11 weeks of intense training through the Kansas Highway Patrol’s K-9 program, according to Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse.
“Ike is doing a wonderful job,” Morse told the Jackson County Commissioners recently. “The Kansas Highway Patrol K-9 program is one of the best in the nation.”
