Don Dick 1928-2018
Donald “Don” Eugene Dick, 89, Circleville, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton.
He was born Aug. 29, 1928, in Holton, the son of Joseph M. and Lorene Stauffer Dick. He attended Carwood Country School west of Holton before graduating from Circleville High School in 1946.
Mr. Dick served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for KDOT as a heavy equipment operator in the Topeka and Holton area for 46 years. He also worked as a farmer/stockman.
He was a member of Circleville United Methodist Church, the American Legion in Holton, the Circleville Saddle Club and the Turtle Association.
He married Thelma June Abel on Dec. 29, 1950, in Holton. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Clinton Dick, Mayetta, and Clayton Dick and wife Darla, Waterville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Dick.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with military honors will follow in Circleville Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
