Leona Bleier 1933-2017
Leona Mae Bleier, 84, Holton, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at her home.
She was born July 3, 1933, in Goff, the daughter of Dwight E. and Nola Clelland Glenn. She graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1951. She lived in the Holton community for more than 50 years.
Mrs. Bleier worked for the Kansas State Bank in Holton for 27 years and served as a bank officer.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Holton and held many positions at the church, including Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Violet Club in Holton.
She married Larry Dean Bleier on Feb. 5, 1955, in Topeka. He died July 12, 2010.
Survivors include two sons, David Bleier and wife Cheryl, Parkville, Mo., and Daniel Bleier and wife Teresa, Oklahoma City, Okla.; two daughters, Julie Shaw and husband Jeff, Ozawkie, and Jill Bleier, Holton; a sister, Mary Jane Oberhelman, Topeka; a brother, Dwight E. Glenn, Wichita; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Holton. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall at the church.
