Holton announces Christmas lighting contest

Think you’ve got the best Christmas display in Holton? Or do you know someone who does?

The City of Holton is seeking nominations for its annual Christmas lighting contest, with participants eligible for utility bill rebates to help cover the cost of lighting their homes for the holiday season. The contest is open only to Holton residential utility customers, it was reported.

Nominations for the best Christmas lighting display may be made by calling the Holton Parks and Recreation Department at 364-9000. Nominations are being accepted through Monday, Dec. 22.

The first-prize winner will receive a $100 rebate on their utility bill. The second-prize winner will receive a $50 utility bill rebate, and the third-prize winner will receive a $25 rebate, it was reported.
