As this year’s Jackson Heights High School senior class motto states, “Even if you’re on the right track, if you’re not moving forward, you’ll still get run over.”

On Sunday, John Kennedy, one of the two co-valedictorians of the Jackson Heights Class of 2017, reminded his fellow students and all present for the school’s commencement exercises just how true the second half of that statement is.

“If you don’t keep progressing, the train of life is going to hit you, and it’s going to hurt,” Kennedy said during his valedictory speech. “When life hits you, get up, shake the dust off and keep moving.”
