Schools announce Christmas breaks

Next Friday, Dec. 19, will be the last day of school in 2014 for Jackson County students.

Holton schools will dismiss for winter break after a full day of classes that Friday. Holton High students, however, may be dismissed closer to 1 p.m. once finals are completed, it was reported. All Holton students will resume classes Monday, Jan. 5.

At Royal Valley, high school students will be dismissed at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, for holiday break, with middle and elementary students being dismissed at the end of the regular school that day. All RV students will return to class Monday, Jan. 5.

All students at Jackson Heights will be dismissed after a full day of classes on that Friday and will return Jan. 5.

Wetmore students will be dismissed for Christmas break at the end of the school day on Thursday, Dec. 18. Classes will resume on Jan. 5.

This week (Dec. 8 – 12) is finals week at Highland Community College with winter break to follow. Registration for the spring semester at HCC’s Holton site is Jan. 14. Classes resume Jan. 20.
