Plea deal reached, sentencing set in rape case
Sentencing has been set for a resident of southern Mexico charged with aggravated sexual battery in an alleged February incident after he pleaded no contest to the charge in Jackson County District Court.
Antonio Ramirez-Garcia, 37, a resident of Oaxaca, Mexico, will face sentencing on Friday, Aug. 10 in district court after entering the no-contest plea to the sexual battery charge during a Friday, June 29 pre-trial hearing.
Ramirez-Garcia was scheduled to stand trial in August on that charge and charges of rape and aggravated criminal sodomy in connection with an alleged Feb. 10 incident at a Holton residence involving a Holton woman.
