Local Easter egg hunts set

Several egg hunts for kids are being planned for Easter weekend in Jackson County.

Holton businesses are sponsoring an egg hunt at the Jackson County Courthouse lawn and Linscott Park starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Kids ages one to three will be searching for eggs on the south side of the courtyard with ages four to five to follow on the north courtyard.

Following those hunts, families will parade one block south and west to Linscott Park for hunts geared to kids age six to nine.

Certain eggs in all the hunts will contain a name of a business and can be taken to those businesses to receive a special treat. Also, golden eggs will be hidden that can also be redeemed for special prizes.

The Circleville Recreation Club is also sponsoring an egg hunt at the Circleville Ball Field starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. The hunt is for children ages 12 and under.

Mayetta Christian Church women are planning an Easter egg hunt for 1 p.m. Saturday. The hunt is for toddlers to fourth-grade students and will be held at the church, which is located at 202 East Jones St. Homemade cookies and punch will be served.
