Jacobs wins Super Bowl Pick'em

The New England Patriots beat the Seattle Seahawks 28-24 in Super Bowl XLIX for the National Football League championship title Sunday evening in Arizona.
Susie Jacobs of Muscotah was named the winner in The Holton Recorder’s Super Pick’em Contest. Jacobs correctly picked the Patriots to win by the final score 28-24.
Holton resident Jim Dodson also predicted the correct winner and score. Both entries were placed in a hat, and Jacobs’ entry was drawn out as the tie-breaking winner.
Jacobs will receive a new 32-inch color, flat-screen TV, and her winning entry was submitted at Koger Variety. Dodson’s entry was submitted at China Restaurant.
A total of 555 entries were cast in this year’s competition, which was up from the 475 entries submitted last year, it was reported.
