Hoyt hosts school bus rescue training

A special rescue training session was held for area firefighters last Saturday utilizing two Royal Valley school buses that were set to be salvaged. Hoyt firefighters, as well as one Holton firefighter, practiced extricating “victims” from a staged bus crash in Hoyt from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the photo above, firefighters pictured “rescuing” Alex Smith (laying on the stretcher) included (from left, front to back) Pat Fontaine (Holton firefighter), Gabe Schultz, Monica Tinoco, Randy Smith (rear right) and Jay England (right).
