Horton man arrested here on sex crime charges

A Horton man was arrested in Jackson County on charges of sex crimes against a child on Monday and is facing similar charges is Brown County, it has been reported. 

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dallas Quentin Allen Bond, 20, Horton on a Jackson County District Court warrant on charges of rape, aggravated indecent liberties with a child, aggravated kidnapping, two counts of sexual exploitation of a child and aggravated endangering a child.

According to Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse, the warrant was issued as a result of a sheriff’s office investigation into allegations involving a minor child.

“Bond is being held in connection with an August 2013 incident in Holton where he is alleged to have under false pretenses taken a child under the age of 14 years of age to a Holton motel room where he is believed to have committed sexual offenses,” Morse said.  

Between Aug. 10 and August 14, 2013, Bond allegedly took a then nine-year-old child to a motel in Holton and had sexual intercourse with the minor, according to a complaint filed against Bond.

At the time of the arrest, Bond was already being held in the Jackson County Jail on other charges from Brown County.

Those charges include aggravated kidnapping, electronic solicitations of a child, sexual exploitation of a child, identity fraud and felony theft. Bond previously worked as a dispatcher for the Brown County Sheriff’s Office and was also charged with theft of items from the sheriff’s office there, including handcuffs, leg irons, a taser, radios and department shirts.

The Brown County investigation led to the Jackson County investigation, according to County Attorney Shawna Miller.

A preliminary hearing on the Brown County charges had been set for 9:45 a.m. today.

Bond will have a video arraignment hearing in Jackson County District Court Thursday afternoon.

 The court set the bond at $100,000 in the Jackson County case and $750,000 in the Brown County case.
