'Heavy traffic' expected on U.S. 75 near new fairgrounds

Portable signs advising motorists on U.S. Highway 75 south of Holton to watch out for “heavy traffic” near 214th Road and the Northeast Kansas Heritage Complex remain in place this week as the 90th annual Jackson County Fair continues.

Motorists who would rather use a different route to the Heritage Complex are encouraged to follow P Road/Cheyenne Drive to 214th Road, near where an entrance at the west side of the complex. Trailer traffic is asked to use this route to the fairgrounds.

One of the highest-traffic times is likely to be at the end of the Jackson County Fair parade, which takes place in the Holton city limits, followed by traffic heading back to the Heritage Complex for the rest of the evening. The parade begins at 6 p.m., it was reported.
