Easter Bunny hopping into Jackson County this Saturday

This coming Saturday, March 26, Jackson County-area children will have more than one opportunity to participate in the grand holiday tradition of the Easter egg hunt.

The annual Holton/Jackson County Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, starting on the Jackson County Courthouse lawn and moving to Linscott Park. Chamber volunteer Carolyn Koger said the AmeriCorps crew will be assisting with this year’s hunt.

Five “golden eggs” will be scattered before Saturday’s hunt, Koger said, and children who find them are encouraged to take them to the Easter Bunny on the site for special prizes. Other eggs will include prizes donated by area merchants.

Children ages 1-3 will hunt for eggs starting at 1 p.m. on the south side of the Courthouse, followed by a hunt for children ages 4-6 on the north side at approximately 1:15 p.m. Then, participants will follow the Easter Bunny in a parade to nearby Linscott Park, where children ages 7-10 may hunt for eggs.

Other Easter egg hunts in Jackson County that day include the Circleville Rec Club’s annual hunt for children ages 12 and under. The hunt will be held at 10 a.m. at the Circleville Ball Field.

Also, children in the Mayetta area are invited to an egg hunt at 1 p.m. at Mayetta Christian Church. The hunt is open to children up through fourth grade, and homemade cookies and punch will be served at the conclusion of the hunt.

Jackson County churches have also scheduled special services for Easter weekend.
