Denison adds curfew

Some Jackson County towns — now including Denison — impose curfews for their residents under the age of 18, while others do not.
On Thursday, March 22, the Denison City Council voted to approve an ordinance setting a curfew prohibiting its residents under the age of 18 from being out in public between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., with some exceptions, according to the ordinance that was published in Monday’s Holton Recorder.
“The City Council just felt it was needed,” said Denison City Clerk Yvonne Hamer, who noted that the ordinance marked the first time the city has had a curfew in effect.
