Columbus Day to be noted Monday

Columbus Day will be observed on Monday as an official federal holiday, and government offices, including the post office, and banks, will be closed.

The Holton Recorder office will be open Monday with regular business hours. 

Due to the holiday, the postal delivery of the Monday edition of The Recorder may be delayed by one day.  

Since 1971, Columbus Day has been celebrated on the second Monday of October and notes Christopher Columbus’ arrival to America on Oct. 12, 1492.
