'American Pickers' looking at area for show taping
The History channel’s “American Pickers” television show is coming to Kansas, and if there’s enough interest, maybe even Jackson County, according to Holton/Jackson County Chamber of Commerce personnel.
Producers for the show have reached out to several communities throughout Kansas and contacted the local Chamber on Thursday, said Lori Banks, Chamber director.
“They asked if we’d help spread the word that they’re looking for large, rare collections of antiques and other treasures,” Banks said.
Now in its 18th season, “American Pickers” follows “pickers” Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz as they scour the country to purchase hidden gems in junkyards, basements, garages and barns, meeting interesting people and hearing their stories.
